【讚念長老法句偈】e
▲【偈頌】
世間事物皆暫時。
勿依他物盼久遠。
事物現前只剎那。
——讚念長老
【說明】
(1)人們追尋著世間雄厚的財力、美好的伴侶、威靈的神祇,想作永久的依靠。
(2)當我們不起貪瞋,走在中道,如實觀照時,才能看清世間的真相。
(3)在覺性和智慧的觀照下,世間的事物,從微塵到星河,從財力、伴侶到神祇,都是剎那生滅無常,都在業煩惱的控制下而不牢靠,所以我們要尋找「出世間」的四道、四果、一涅槃。
▲Everything in this world is temporary.
You cannot rely on anything to be permanent.
Everything is here for just a short time.

【讚念長老法句偈】f

物質心所喜,但是會變化。
精神心所喜,但是會變化。
故無穩靠物,值得去執取。
——讚念長老
【說明】
(1)物質,是色法,此處特指財富,為一般欲界眾生所喜愛愛。
(2)精神或心理狀態,是名法,此處特指欲樂和禪定之樂,分別為欲界眾生和修禪定者所喜愛。
(3)所有的色法和名法,都是變化無常,不能作永久的依靠,所以不值得去執取,只有無死的涅槃才可作永久的依靠。
▲ The mind likes to cling to material objects, but material objects are subject to change.
The mind likes to cling to mental states, but mental states are bound to change.
There is really nothing stable or reliable enough for the mind to cling to.
