問：凡是無明都是煩惱嗎？
答：凡是無明不都是煩惱，因為 「屬於 知識方面的 無知」是無明而不是煩惱故。凡屬於 貪瞋癡方面的 無知，不但 是無明而且是煩惱。屬於貪瞋癡方面的 無知 ，也就是 屬於煩惱方面的 無明，此即十二緣起的 無明 ，是流轉生死的 無明。屬於知識方面的 無知 ，如宇宙如何形成 、生物的微細分類等等 。
