（1）《 菩提道次第廣論》 的奢摩他主要依據《 瑜伽師地論》 的聲聞地的修止法門，由九種心住逐漸達成。內觀法門的前階也離不開九種心住的過程。 （2）內觀法門的覺知動作或呼吸，前階段同樣經歷九種心住的過程。 （3）《 菩提道次第廣論》 的奢摩他另有觀想佛像的方式，這是印度後期的一方便法門。釋尊時期內觀的奢摩他法門是直接以各人的身心五蘊為觀照的對象。
